AWPower, an energy solutions provider servicing customers in the Western Cape, installed a small commercial hybrid solar system at Independent Claims.

Cape of Good Hope SPCA, the founding society of the SPCA movement in South Africa and the oldest animal welfare organisation in the country, has chosen AWPower to implement a grid-tied solar solution, with additional modular battery backup systems to support essential loads.

In March 2016, AWPower engineers designed and installed an off-grid solar PV system in its sustainability project house in Glencairn, Simon’s Town. The plan was to follow a modular approach by expanding the system to a full off-grid solar PV system that would

AWPower, an energy solutions provider servicing customers in Western Cape and Gauteng, recently upgraded the lead-acid batteries from an existing solar PV system installed during 2016, to 30kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries (LiFePO4) manufactured by Revov.

AWPower completed a residential installation in Newlands, Cape Town. The customer requirement was to start with a battery backup first to ensure energy security, and later to add solar PV to reduce cost. This video shows an example of the modular approach that was followed to a full solar PV solution, expanding from initial battery backup as the budget allowed.

AWPower engineers have achieved outstanding success with designing solar PV systems for commercial buildings, including medium size shopping centres such as in this video story.

Inframax Holdings (Pty) Ltd, a national property group with head office in Cape Town, contracted AWPower to design and install a solar PV system for their Kenridge Shopping Centre in Cape Town. Since being commissioned, the electricity generated through winter and arrival of summer supports an interesting business case that savings can pay for solar PV, and even more so when the system is configured to allow feed-in to the grid (energy export).

In Harfield Village, a leafy suburb in Cape Town, AWPower was commissioned during the course of 2019 to design and install a solar PV system to achieve the home owner's goal of avoiding downtime during prolonged load shedding, while saving on electricity costs over the long term.

The Management and Board of Huis Nuweland decided to evaluate renewable energy for their retirement village in Newlands, Cape Town and after considerable research they appointed AWPower to implement a grid-tied solar PV solution as a first phase.

FarSoft Solutions based in Wellington opted for solar PV in order to prevent costly production losses during load-shedding and power outages. The company commissioned AWPower to design and install an off-grid solar PV system for their company premises. The system was installed in April and apart from gaining in energy security, it has also assisted FarSoft to drastically reduce their carbon footprint.
