AWPower has created an innovative approach to delivering energy solutions by leveraging on their engineering skills. The company was established during 2015 as an extension of the Industrial Engineering division of leading IT business AWCape. AWPower has since expanded their engineering capacity by employing engineers trained at University of Stellenbosch and University of Cape Town. The company also has a close liaison with the Centre for Renewable and Sustainable Energy Studies (CRSES) at Stellenbosch University, where AWPower engineers will receive post-graduate training during 2016.

AWPower is partnering with local designer and manufacturer MLT Inverters for the bulk of its inverter needs and this partnership is benefitting AWPower customers by offering products which are locally serviced and supported, which is viewed as a shortcoming in many of the solutions offered by suppliers in the energy sector. “By partnering with MLT Inverters we are able to offer cost effective designs with short lead times on servicing & repair. By buying local we are able to remove the crippling effect of currency fluctuations in our price offerings” said AWPower CEO Henri Hattingh.

Dr Bernard Bekker, CEO of MLT Inverters commented:

“ultimately the end-customer wins through the partnership between AWPower and MLT Inverters, not only through the advantages offered by using local products, but also through access to the technical expertise and experience of our combined teams”.
