Are we looking at the ultimate demise of traditional centralised utility companies?
Current research indicates a significant increase in the growth of energy production from renewables, with rooftop solar PV systems having the largest growth potential. This is expected to lead to a leapfrog effect, much like that of mobile phones in Africa during the past 15 years. The effect could disrupt and lead to a world-wide “death spiral” for traditional centralised utility companies.
Please join us for a free 2.5-hour seminar on 21 May @ 09:00 for 09:30 at Nedbank Conference Centre at the V&A Waterfront. Our introductory speaker will be Arnaud Dabancourt who has researched renewable energy and submitted in partial requirements for an Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) his thesis, entitled Rooftop (R)evolution – From Global Trends to National Policies, an Enquiry into the Tensions and Drivers of the Embedded Photovoltaic Industry in South Africa.
- The Rooftop (R)evolution revisited – Arnaud Dabancourt (Tristan)
- Technical perspective on PV & Hybrid systems – Dr Bernard Bekker (CRSES)
- Case Studies – Performance & pay-back – Henri Hattingh (AWPower)
